Varanasi

Traveling without the assistance of people who actual plan in advance can be hard... In my mind I created a little plan on how I would get to Varanasi and all the stops I could make on the way while still arriving before New Years... This was not the case at all and it feels like instead of doing lots of sight seeing I spend three days on trains... Still what would a trip to India be without trains?!
From Aurganbad I took a train to Jhansi that arrived at 5.00 A.M and had to wait till 11.00 P.M to catch a train to Varanasi. A really good piece of advice to myself is that it is ideal to book your tickets ahead of time when traveling in India. mmmmm
With the help of some old Indian men I was able to get into sleeper class, they were not to predatory so that was an added, refreshing bonus!
Varanasi is a place I have been dreaming of going to since I decided to come to India, its one of those spots that your a sucker to miss out on. Other then some really bad weather for the first few days, which apparently I was sooo lucky to witness, Varanasi was the coolest place I have been to.
Its everything you read, people bathing and shitting in the same spot, burning ceremonies, crazy dread lock holy men; there was always something to watch on the Ganga.
If one of your favorite activities is people watching I would say that Varanasi is that place for you.

I don't know what this was... not Indian food. Its looked pretty, was tasty and the only thing you need to eat for days... So much food.

This goat... I love him

Main Ghat... hectic Ghat

I went on your typical morning boat ride with these two crazy children...
